This matching activity helps children learn to discern differences in letter shapes. Print two copies onto heavy cardstock, so you have two of each letter. Cut them out and keep them in a snack size baggie. Ask your child to find two letters that match. If matching the letters is difficult for your preschool or kindergarten age child, place the cards face up and start with only four similar letter shapes (eight cards) at a time.
This activity helps children learn to pay attention to differences in similar shapes and is an important skill to gain before learning to read.
